I am home in Denver now. After walking 900 miles from Jacksonville, FL to Cleveland, TX, I allowed the heat, humidity and thunderstorms to chase me off my cross-country route. The distances between safe havens were much longer. I was feeling alone. It wasn’t fun anymore!
My Walk is taking a break …
So, it is now time to regroup and plan how to complete the journey. My thought is to begin again in January from San Diego and travel east to Dallas. The temperatures in the desert areas may be more forgiving in the winter.
Also, a big upgrade will be a support person with a vehicle. I have several offers from folks who will be able to arrange their schedules to join me in the New Year. The “G-Mobile” transported my gear for this leg but, hauling it over uncertain terrain took its toll on my physically.
Yes, my feet, legs and hips are fine but my right arm did suffer from maneuvering the 58lb duffle bag on a baby-jogging stroller through traffic. By the time I arrived in Dallas, I wore out my third pair of trail shoes and was bored with my two pair of shorts and four shirts. Meantime, Jennifer was virtually orchestrating my itinerary, Mike was bolstering me on our daily calls from the road, and Pat was keeping me company with his visits and loving phone conversations.
Time to get back to my business …
Real Estate is wild and crazy this summer in Denver. It is all hands on deck for this “responsible” Broker. What a wonderful time for me to have it ALL!
